The waterfall emerges from a karst cave in the Komarče cliff at an elevation of 836 meters. After a few rapids, it splits in the shape of the letter "A," then plunges almost vertically into an emerald pool.
As the waterfall has two streams, they are named Velika Savica (Big Savica) and Mala Savica (Small Savica). The big stream is 78 meters high, while the small one is 25 meters. Savica is a unique phenomenon among waterfalls in the world, as the water flow splits into two streams already in the hidden underground.
The waterfall is unforgettable when the water level is high, and if a rainbow appears, it looks like something straight out of a dream.
